The Kelani Ganga at Kitulgala offers approximately 12km of river with Grade 3 – 4 rapids through a rainforest gorge of genuine drama – the forest closes in on both sides throughout, the water is warm, and a sequence of named rapids (Baby Rapid, Belts and Braces, Temple of Doom) deliver the kind of progression that makes the experience satisfying from start to finish. The original railway bridge supports from the 1957 David Lean film are visible in the river. Certified operators, safety kayakers on the water, helmets and life jackets provided as standard.
